Dr. Michael Gelb
Dr Michael Gelb is co-founder of The TAO Method™ and is a dentist in New York City with a practice devoted to Airway , TMJ and Headache Disorders and how they affect performance, fatigue, memory and pain. Dr Gelb is a Clinical Professor at NYU College of Dentistry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain . He has pioneered the concept of Airway Centric ® Dentistry and is the CoAuthor of the book GASP.
He is also the Cofounder of the AAPMD and The Foundation for Airway Health.
Dr. Layne Martin
Layne Martin, co-founder of The TAO Method™ graduated from StonyBrook School of Dental Medicine in 1998, where he received a scholarship from the US Navy. After a distinguished career in the Navy, Dr Martin entered private practice. He completed the Kois Continuum in 2013, and became a mentor at the Kois Center in 2014. Layne sold his restorative dental practice in 2018. He completed the Tufts mini airway residency and became a Diplomate of the ABDSM in 2020. He is currently a fellow at CTOR in Hoboken, NJ, in Orthodontics and Craniofacial Orthopedics and will be completing his program in August of ,2021. He has committed the rest of his career to treating sleep disordered breathing problems in children and adults.
Dr. Kathleen Carson
Dr. Carson has been practicing airway focused dentistry since since 2005 when it was discovered that her oldest child had an airway issue and proper facial development was the answer. After graduating with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Dr. Carson attended the UCLA School of Dentistry. While there, she was presented with the Excellence in Restorative Dentistry Award and the Academy of General Dentistry Award. She earned her DDS honors in 2001, graduating cum laude, and served a general practice residency with the Veterans Administration in Sepulveda. Dr. Carson has been practicing airway focused dentistry since since 2005 when it was discovered that her oldest child had an airway issue and proper facial development was the answer development. She is very passionate about spreading the knowledge of improved health through being able to breathe properly. Dr. Carson also has her fellowships in Neuromuscular & Physiological Dentistry, and Buteyko Breathing.
Jen Kirkham, RDH
Jen Kirkham RDH, co-founder of The TAO Method™ has been the backbone of successful Dental educational programs and driver for professional excellence in and out of dentistry. She is a keystone member of the dental community having served a variety of capacities in sales, clinical education, business development, digital product development, masterminds and now Executive Leadership in Airway. Jen leads Hygienists through an Oral PA™ program offering vertical movement for Dental Hygienists as lead investigators and airway case co-managers in the Dental Practice
Dr. Jeremy Montrose
Dr. Montrose now dedicates all his time to treating the underlying causes of sleep and breathing disorders, TMD, craniofacial underdevelopment, orthodontics, orofacial pain disorders, and myofunctional disorders including lip and tongue ties in children and adults with an emphasis on functional minimally invasive techniques. He has published articles and lectured to healthcare providers as well as the general public about the many impacts that sleep disordered breathing has on health and development, as well as functional oral treatments for sleep and breathing disorders, myofunctional disorders, TMD, and alternatives to traditional orthodontics in children and adults. Dr. Montrose is passionate about his belief that by understanding his patients’ symptoms, targeting underlying root cause problems, and working with the body, it is possible to treat many of the symptoms plaguing today’s society without dependence exclusively on medication or overly invasive procedures.
He holds a BSc in Biology from Colorado College; and a DMD from Oregon Health Sciences University. He passionately believes in furthering his education and skillset, and is constantly growing his knowledge base from memberships and continuing education with organizations including the American Academy of Physiological Medicine and Dentistry, The Breathe Institute, The American Academy of Facial Esthetics, UCLA School of Dentistry Orofacial Pain Program, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The Facial Beauty Institute, The International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics, The Academy of Applied Myofunctional Sciences, The Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, Vivos Therapeutics, The American Dental Association, and The American Academy of General Dentistry
